Global M&A activity now totals $2.8 trillion so far in 2014, which is up 58% over YTD 2013, according to Thomson Reuters. This includes more than $100 billion for the healthcare equipment sector, which is its highest-ever YTD tally. Global private equity activity is at $435.2 billion (up 51%), while U.S. private equity activity is at $207 billion (up 32%).
