During the first six months of the year, venture capital and private-equity funds delivered higher returns than public equities, according to data from Cambridge Associates. Private equity’s returns were 8.9%, venture capital provided an 8.1% return, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index returned 7.1%, the company said.
